Haryana Hammers take on Bengaluru Yodhas in the first of the three games at the Hyatt Regency in Gurgaon on Wednesday, 16 December. The star attraction of the match is the clash between Yogeshwar Dutt of Haryana and Bengaluru Yodhas' Bajrang Punia in the 65kg men's category.
The Bengaluru side come into this game at the backdrop of a heavy defeat against Mumbai Garuda in their previous match in the competition, and they will be looking to overturning the result today. However, Narsingh Yadav, the 'Icon' player of Bengaluru Yodhas, knows that Hammers are not easy to beat at any cost.
"The Hammers are a very good team. Their two foreign girls [Oksana Herhel and Tatyana Kit] are excellent," Narsingh was quoted by the PTI. "We will need to play very well against them and ensure that we take full toll when we get the opportunity. Unfortunately against Mumbai [Garuda], we failed to make appropriate use of our opportunities and that hurt us. We cannot make the same mistake here," he added.
Haryana Hammers played their last match of the competition on Saturday against Dilli Veer, and they have had three days of rest in between. However, they have a worry as Indian star wrestler Amit Dahiya doesn't look too fit to compete in the 57kg men's category today.
Yogeshwar has also said that he is not taking their opponents lightly today. "The Yodhas are a good team, every bout will be interesting and we will have to be at our very best if we want to win this match," the Hammers 'icon' player said.
Haryana Hammers vs Bengaluru Yodhas is scheduled for a 7 pm IST start.
