In the Pro Kabbadi League (PKL) Patna Pirates will lock horns with Jaipur Pink Panthers, while Bengal Warriors will be up against U Mumba in a double header on Saturday at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose indoor Stadium.
The Pirates are currently fourth in the standings with six points and will head into the encounter with an aim of moving up the ladder against the Pink Panthers that are sixth with five points.
Patna edged Telugu Titans in the last encounter to register their first victory in the tournament. Ravi Dalal helped the Pirates make a comeback after trailing by four points by the end of first half. Patna will be hoping for a same performance from their raider to maintain winning-momentum in the competition.
The Pirates will be up against a formidable Jaipur outfit, which have also registered its first victory in the tournament against the Titans. Maninder Singh and Jasvir Singh wrecked havoc to help their team register a thumping 46-32 victory.
Both Patna and Jaipur are evenly matched sides and will be striving to add more points in their tally to move up in the points table but their progress will largely depend on their raiders.
Meanwhile, table toppers U Mumba will be striving to strengthen their grip in the competition with a win over hosts Bengal Warriors. U Mumba are currently at the top with 18 points and yet to drop a match in the competition.
In the last encounter, skipper Anup Kumar and Shabeer Bapu Sharafuddin came to the fore and helped Mumbai in beating the Pirates in a close encounter. Mumbai will be banking on their raiding exploits to remain unbeatable in the league.
On the other hand, Bengal are third in the standings with ten points, behind Bengaluru Bulls and will be looking to catch the Bangalore-based franchisee in the points table.
Bengal defeating Pune in the last match and will be looking to keep their winning form going in their last match at home.
