Dabang Delhi will take on the Patna Pirates in the second game of the Super Sunday (9 August) of the Pro Kabaddi League 2015 at the Thyagaraj Sports Complex, Delhi.
Dabang Delhi have suffered four back-to-back defeats in Pro Kabaddi League 2015 and they will be desperate to get back to winning ways by beating the Pirates at home.
On the other hand, Pirates have been in decent form and are sitting at the fourth position in the points table. But the difference of points between the first placed Telegu Titans would leave them in the thoughts of winning this game against the Delhi boys and reduce that gap of 17 points.
Pirates came into the game after beating Bengaluru Bulls in a close match on Saturday at the same venue. The Pirates tipped the Bulls by just two points and to everyone's surprise, the former came back from behind to seal an exciting victory. At half-time, the score was 12-9, which was in favour of the Bulls. But an outstanding performance from right corner defender D Suresh powered the Pirates to their fourth victory.
Suresh was adjudged as the inspiring defender of the match. He certainly deserved the award because of the number of tackles that ended up being successful, which edged the Pirates over the Bulls.
Delhi are coming into the match after a defeat against the struggling Bengal Warriors. The Warriors registered their second victory of the tournament after losing six games in a row. Although, the margin of defeat was only three points, at the end of the day, points in the table next to one's name matters and the Delhi boys could not get those points at home.
The game between Dabang Delhi and Patna Pirates will be a reverse fixture. The first time the two sides met each other was in Pataliputra Sports Complex in Patna and it was the Pirates who emerged victorious after thrashing Delhi by 17 points. Delhi would look to avenge that humiliating defeat in this game and claim five crucial points to move up to the fifth position in the standings of the Pro Kabaddi League 2015.
