Louis Van Gaal has so far had a perfect start to his Manchester United career with two wins out of two in this preseason tour of the Unites States of America.

And in both games, 7-0 and 3-2 wins over LA Galaxy and Roma respectively, Manchester United have shown plenty of attacking intent, pointing towards the fact that this season will not be so drab and dreary in as it was last campaign.

Van Gaal's side will look for another impressive performance when they take on Inter Milan at FedEx Field in Maryland in yet another game of the International Champions Cup.

Wayne Rooney has so far thrived in the 3-5-2 formation under Van Gaal, and the England forward will look for another starring role after impressing in the 3-2 win over Roma, by scoring two goals and setting up the other.

The new formation with three central defenders and wing-backs seem to be working perfectly for United at the moment, and Van Gaal revealed he would stick to the system for the upcoming matches as well.

"It's difficult to change the systems and I had to start this system at once because we don't have time to change it," Van Gaal said on Monday. "We only have three weeks before the season starts, so I have to use all my training sessions to implement this system.

"They know already the other system [4-4-2 or 4-3-3]; they have played that from their youth, so that's easy. You saw that in the [Netherlands'] game against Mexico -- I'm sorry to say that when we were 1-0 down I changed the system to 4-3-3 and then we beat them!"

Van Gaal has so far named his two captains for the two preseason games, with Darren Fletcher wearing the armband in the first match against LA Galaxy, before Tom Cleverley was given the honour in the 3-2 win over Roma.

The manager revealed he names his skipper based on the amount of playing time and Chris Smalling could be in line to take over from Fletcher and Cleverley.

"The captains are the ones who play 90 minutes," said van Gaal. "You have seen Fletcher play the first 90 minutes and then Cleverley play a lot of the 90 minutes and tomorrow Chris Smalling will play 90 minutes.

"So maybe he is the captain tomorrow? But two more players will also play 90 minutes."

Inter Milan are coming off a victory over Real Madrid in their first match of the International Champions Cup. The game against the European champions ended 1-1 after full time, with the Italians then going onto win the game via the penalty shootout.

Mauro Icardi scored for Inter from the penalty spot, after new signing Nemanja Vidic was brought down inside the area, to make the game 1-1 following Gareth Bale's spectacular early strike. Inter then went on beat Real in the shootout to start their preseason campaign with a win.
