"The Originals" Season 3 premiered on 8 October, by reuniting the Mikaelson clan – if only in the ancient past – and with a blood orgy organised by one of the oldest members in Klaus's (Joseph Morgan) sire line. We also saw "the prophetic vision" of the family's "spectacular downfall" through the eyes of a cipher that Lucien (Andrew Lees) introduces Klaus to.

Lucien, although a friend of Klaus for centuries, is definitely not one to be trusted. In Season 3 Episode 1, Lucien came with the warning that all the three sire lines are brewing up a war and that killing the sires would be the easiest way to wipe out an entire race of vampires. Despite being an informant of this key message, he does not seem to be trustworthy.

Towards the end of the first episode we see that he is planning something huge, probably tricking Klaus into doing something so colossally destructive that it destroys the entire Mikaleson clan. Even before the premiere, we had learned that this season will be all about the sire-lines, joining hands to kill the original vampires and disentangle themselves from the curse that ties them to the Mikaelsons; Lucien could very well be the mastermind behind the coup.

While Klaus is perturbed by the news of his family's impending doom and Cami's (Leah Pipes) boundaries, his brother Elijah (Daniel GIllies) finds out that Hayley (Pheobe Tonkin) is missing and is possibly dead.

In the upcoming episode, Hayley's husband Jackson (Nathon Parsons) returns all bloody and angry. He is hell-bent on finding his wife, and along with Elijah, they go to Nick to find out if he knows anything about it. This is possibly the first time Jackson and Klaus are coming face-to-face, after the Season 2 finale.

However, Hayley fans need not worry, because the werewolf is alive – if a little naked – at Davina's (Danielle Campbell) crib and is willing to do anything to get back with her daughter, before she turns back into her wolf form. She even offers to kill anyone Davina wants dead, although it doesn't seem like murder is on the young regent's books in the near future. She just wants an ally to keep her witches in tow.
