Golden State Warriors have lost the least number of games during the ongoing NBA regular season with only 8 losses while they have picked up 37 victories, which has helped them maintain the number one position in the Western Conference standings.
Hence, their opponent for tonight's game, Sacramento Kings know fully well the task that lies ahead of them.
Kings have not been in the best of form as they have only won 17 games and lost 29 this season, and hence they lie in the 12th position in the Western Conference, four places outside the playoff spot.
When these two teams met last time around, it was Klay Thompson, who stole the show with an amazing performance in the third quarter, where he scored 37 points, thus creating a record for maximum points during one quarter.
Even, their coach Steve Kerr, who was named Western Conference coach of the month talked about Thompson's performance. "I was one of the luckiest NBA players ever to play with Michael Jordan, Tim Duncan, David Robinson and some of the greatest players ever," he was quoted by AP.
"As many spectacular things as Michael did, which he did nightly, I never saw him do that."
Thompson totalled a career-high 52 points during the game and Kings will fear Thompson and hope he doesn't come up with a similar performance.
The Kings also do not posses a good home record (7-14), while Warriors have a good record on the road with 15 wins and 6 losses. To make matters worse for the Kings, they have only won 2 out of their last ten games played.
"It's going to be huge for us, especially on the road against some good teams," Warriors point guard Stephen Curry said.
"We'll look forward to the All-Star break to get some rest, but we've got some business to take care of before we get there."
But, Kings might take confidence from their last game against Indiana Pacers, where they won 99-94, after suffering eight straight losses.
Talking about the importance of the victory Sacramento Kings coach Tyrone Corbin said: "We needed to get a win, a tough road win. We were able to stick it out at the end and get it."
