After defeating Chicago Bulls in their last two matches (game 4 and 5), Cleveland Cavaliers are just a win away from progressing to the NBA playoffs eastern conference finals. The Cavs lead the best of seven series, 3-2.
Hence, game 6 between the two will be a crucial one at United Center, Chicago on Thursday.
The Bulls, despite having all their starters in double figures, finished second best during game 5 with the score reading 106-101. Jimmy Butler rose to the occasion with 29 points and may be required to come up with such a performance again.
He will want his performance to help Bulls draw level in the series; else they will have to exit from the playoffs.
Butler's performance was overshadowed by LeBron James and Kyrie Irving as they came up with 38 and 25 points respectively. Things could not have been better for James, who had 12 rebounds and did not have any turnover to his name as well.
Irving also looked in fine form as he drilled three 3 pointers during the game and if this duo of Irving and James come up with such performances, the Bulls might once again prove to be the second best.
What makes Irving's performance even more special is that he played game 5, despite not being fully fit as he had a right foot strain and tendinitis in his left knee.
But the game can throw some interesting twists as well if the Bulls' duo of Butler and Derrick Rose showcase their skills, as they have done in 2015 Playoffs. Butler and Rose averages 23.2 and 10.9 points per game in the Playoffs so far. Pau Gasol has been another star performer for the Bulls in 2015 Playoffs with an average of 15.1 ppg.
Bulls have missed the services of Pau Gasol in their last two games with a strained left hamstring, but the star Bulls' players has decided to turn up for the all important game 6, as they are in the brink of elimination.
''I'll be out there,'' AP quoted Gasol as saying. ''I don't know, but whatever percentage I will be, that's what I'll give,''
'It's frustrating,'
''It's not easy. It's painful. It's hard. But things like this happen, sometimes at the worst times.''
So with the player's inclusion, the Bulls will be a formidable team and will also have the right mix of ammunition to take the game to the decider.
