The Los Angeles Clippers and San Antonio Spurs lie on the sixth and the seventh position of the Western Conference respectively and need to maintain their position, if they are to qualify for the NBA Playoffs.
But, a dip in their performance in the second half of the season could see them lower in the standings table and lose their Playoff spot, so the remainder of the regular season is important for both the teams.
Both the teams have a similar win loss record where Clippers have won 35 and lost 19, while Spurs have won 34 and lost 19.
So when these two teams meet later tonight at Staples Center, Los Angeles, California, there is nothing to choose between the two, in spite of the Clippers having an enjoyable record at home with 21 wins and seven losses.
But Clippers have to be on their toes when they host Spurs who do not depend on a single player, but play as a unit.
This Spurs team has been receiving a lot of praises from people involved around the NBA.
Pistons coach Stan van Gundy has also talked about the quality of their team, as he said, "They are a great team and they've been at this for a long time. They move the ball as well as anyone in the game," as quoted by AP.
"Every guy on that roster loves to pass, and they not only want to do it, they are skilled at it. It's one thing to be willing, but it is tough when they are willing and skilled."
Some of the well-known players in the team are Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Kawhi Leonard.
While for the Clippers, they have some real big players who have been in impressive forms this season, including James Crawford, Chris Paul and Blake Griffin.
Griffin has looked special this season on both sides of the court with 22.5 points per game, while he has been collecting 7.5 rebounds per game.
Both the teams go into the match full on confidence with two straight victories against their names, but it is going to be a completely different affair with the NBA All Star break, which might have broken their momentum.
