The Golden State Warriors are the best team in the NBA this season. But of late, they have failed to maintain their high standards that they have set for themselves. The Warriors, after their loss to San Antonio Spurs, defeated Minnesota Timberwolves, but they struggled to register a win. Their star player Stephen Curry also looked below par.
Curry, who has been the best player for Warriors, has played an integral role in the season so far, but he seems to be a bit tired. With the NBA season coming to an end, and the playoffs approaching, Curry cannot afford to go off-radar as the Warriors are highly dependent on the player.
Curry will be keen to get back to his incredible scoring ways as Warriors are set to face a strong team in the form of Los Angeles Clippers at the Oracle Arena, Wednesday. The match will not be easy for Warriors, with Clippers also being a good side.
Warriors' player Draymond Green is aware that his team is going through a tough time of late and wants to fight it out in the middle and things will fall in place soon enough.
''It's been a tough stretch for us, and it's not going to get any easier,'' the Associated Press quoted Green as saying. ''It's something we'll fight through. It's not something we haven't been through before, and it's not something we won't go through again, so we'll be fine.''
Though Clippers are a strong NBA team, their record of late has not been great, losing two back-to-back matches against the Pelicans and Grizzlies. One should not read into their losses too much, they are a much better unit. They lost to Pelicans in their last game by four points only.
However, some believe that such performances from the Clippers can be attributed to their hectic schedule. But Chris Paul is not someone who will make excuses for their loss.
''There are no excuses. There is no fatigue,'' Paul said. ''We lost. No excuses. We didn't defend well enough. We waited too late to put our imprint on the game.''
With players such as Chris Paul, JJ Reddick and DeAndre Jordan, they have players who can take their game to the next level and defeat Warriors. The same can be said for Warriors, who possess Curry, Green and Klay Thompson. With such players representing their respective camps, an entertaining game is on the cards for basketball fans.
Warriors will be keen to get back on track by defeating Clippers, while Paul and co. will want to hand Warriors their first home defeat of the season.
