Though the Cavaliers have lost their last game against Indiana Pacers, they are a confident side this season, and find themselves in fourth place of the Eastern Conference standings.
The Cavs have been one of the best teams in the league with 37 wins and 23 losses, while their opponents for today, Houston Rockets, have also been in top form and find themselves in third position of the Western Conference with 40 wins and 18 losses.
Hence, the game between the two in-form sides is expected to be a fascinating affair.
To add to Rockets' splendid performance, they have won four games on the trot and would be looking for their fifth one against the Cavs on Sunday.
The Cavs game against Pacers showed the importance of LeBron James and Kyrie Irving, both of whom missed the Pacers game.
Against the Rockets, LeBron James is expected to start while Irving is still not expected to play, which is a concern as he has been one of the best players for the Cavs during the season, averaging 21.7 points per game along with 5.2 assists.
Coach David Blatt is aware of Irving's importance in the side.
"Hopefully we'll have (Irving) back soon," he said, according to AP.
"We just have to see how he responds to the treatment, but it's not too serious so that's good."
So, LeBron James will be under huge pressure alongside Kevin Love to perform and help the team to be victorious.
As far as the Rockets are concerned, it is James Harden who has been impressive all season with his skills on the court, he averages 27 points per game with 5.8 rebounds and 7 assists.
Dwight Howard has been equally impressive with 16.3 points this season and 11 rebounds per game.
It is due to Harden's performance that the Rockets are enjoying a good spell and the same can be said for the Cavs, who, despite a poor start to their NBA campaign have been gradually striking form and LeBron James can be credited majorly for the performance.
So, Sunday's game between the two could well be decided by the performance of Harden and James.
Some feel that the Cavs could go all the way this season and win the NBA title.
