With the NBA regular season moving into the business end of the competition, the fight for the Playoff spot is just increasingly getting competitive in the Eastern Conference.
Charlotte Hornets, scheduled to play Chicago Bulls at United Center later tonight, are aware of teams such as Boston Celtics and Indiana Pacers, who are just below them in the standings table. Celtics and Pacers lie in ninth and tenth positions, respectively.
Hornets' opponents for tonight, Bulls have looked in decent form as they lie on the fourth position of the Eastern Conference standings table with 42 wins and 29 losses. But, the Bulls have not been impressive in their last ten outings, where they have lost six and only won four.
The same can be said for Hornets as well, where they have a 5-5 win loss record in their last ten. The Hornets would be eager to win some games in succession to remain safe for the Playoff spot.
So, with a victory against Minnesota Timberwolves in their last fixture with the score reading 109-98, they would be eager to use this win to motivate them and take their game to another level, as they travel to Chicago for an important clash.
It is not going to be an easy outing against the Bulls for Hornets on the road as the Bulls have a 22-14 win loss record at home, while Hornets away record reads 14-20.
Guard Mo Williams showed his skills against the Timberwolves as he scored 24 points and needs to come up with a similar performance tonight as well to defeat the Bulls.
Not only Williams, but other players such as Gerald Henderson, Al Jefferson, Kidd-Gilchrist also need to play at their maximum to help them clinch the Playoff spot. It could be an added bonus if they finish higher in the standings table as well.
The Bulls have not been hugely impressive in the absence of Jimmy Butler and Derrick Rose, but they have players like Paul Gasol, who has been impressive in the season with 18.4 points per game this season. But, they need other players also to chip in and reduce the pressure on Gasol.
But, the Bulls might be in for some good news, as there are chances of Butler's return against Hornets.
