With an unbeaten run of 15 straight games, Atlanta Hawks are playing some great basketball this season.
So Minnesota Timberwolves, their opponents for tonight, know exactly what they are up against when they take on Hawks at the Philips Arena.
Hawks enjoy a 36-8 win-loss record in the league, while the story is quite different for the Wolves, who have been one of the worst teams in the competition with 7 wins and 35 losses.
The odds are stacked heavily against the Wolves, so not surprisingly Hawks will be overwhelming favourites for the night.
The Hawks have a number of really good players in their squad, making them a formidable team, and are not dependent on a single superstar like some of the other teams in the league.
Jeff Teague, Kyle Korver, Paul Millsap and Al Horford have been the in-form players this season. They have played as a unit hence find themselves on top of the Eastern Conference.
''Every night somebody different can step up,'' said Hawks' coach Mike Budenholzer, according to Fox Sports.
While Hawks' forward Millsap said, ''Give me four or five really good players compared to just one superstar.''
''I'll take that any day.''
Millsap was their best player on the night with 22 points and 10 rebounds and would be expected to come up with similar stats against the Wolves this time around.
Another Hawks, Krover, drew comparison with San Antonio Spurs when he said, ''We watched how the Spurs did it in the Finals.''
''We're not the Spurs, but we do a lot of similar things. And they won the Finals pretty convincingly.''
The Wolves lost their last game against New Orleans Pelicans 84-92 at home, while Hawks won theirs against Thunder 103-93.
For the Wolves, Andrew Wiggins has been impressive thus far but could well do with some support from his teammates. Wolves' coach Flip Saunders feels that Wiggins might be fatigued.
''I think he's physically and mentally just worn (out),'' said Saunders.
''I think he's hit the rookie wall a bit. Somehow we've got to find a way to go right through it,'' he added.
