Cleveland Cavaliers, after a slow start to their NBA season, have looked in great shape of late as they look for their seventh successive win when they face Detroit Pistons later tonight.
The Cavaliers are on an upsurge, as they have climbed to the fifth position in the Eastern Conference, while Detroit Pistons have been below par as they have lost their previous two games.
Pistons lie in the tenth position in the Eastern Conference with 17 wins and 28 losses, so they are out of the playoff positions for the moment.
The Cleveland Cavaliers, on the other hand, with 25 wins and 20 losses are well on course for the playoffs, but one of their key players, LeBron James does not want to think about the postseason yet.
"There's such a long road ahead of us, I'm not going to get too ahead of myself personally," James was quoted by AP.
The Cavaliers defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in their last NBA fixture, with the score reading 108-98. LeBron James was at his menacing best as he put up an impressive performance with 34 points.
With victory against Thunder, the Cavs have showed that they mean business now and are prepared to move positively ahead.
James had taken a break to fully recover from a few niggles, but has come back looking fully fit and determined to do well, as has been shown with his performances on the court.
Since the break, LeBron has been averaging 30.3 points, 6.9 rebounds and 2.1 steals in his seven games.
Having an in-form LeBron James makes a huge difference for Cleveland, as they are highly dependent on the player. The Cavs are 1-8 without him and 24-12 with him.
The Pistons were unfortunate to lose in their last game against Toronto Raptors 114-110. Had they been a bit tight in their defense, they could have won the game.
Pistons are going to severely miss the services of Brandon Jennings, who will miss the remainder of the season with a ruptured left Achilles tendon.
But his replacement, Darryl Gerard ''DJ'' Augustin came up with a brilliant game scoring 35 points against the Toronto Raptors, along with eight assists and four rebounds, despite being on the losing side.
He needs to come up with a similar performance against the Cleveland Cavaliers, who are high on confidence.
