The new teaser of Tom Cruise's The Mummy, a reboot of The Mummy franchise, was released on December 1. Unlike other Mummy movies, the film is set in modern times.
The Mummy is an ancient princess, who awakens in modern times. It shows that the princess' ancient tomb is pushed by a group of soldiers.
According to the teaser, Tom Cruise's character Nick Morton tells Jenny (Annabelle Wallis), "I saw her. She is real."
The plot revolves around Cruise's character as he is the only person who can restrain the Mummy from destroying the world.
Another shot of the teaser shows Cruise running for his life alongside co-star Annabelle Wallis as the room around them shatters to pieces.
The teaser also escalates the thrill amongst the viewers as it shows a glimpse of the weird-eyed Mummy, played by Sofia Boutella. The Mummy's look is definitely horrifying as all hell breaks loose with the strips of 'mummy bandages' wrapped around her body and golden-brown iris of her eyes.
The CGI effects used in the teaser are fear-provoking and the movie will definitely enthral every fan. The film is part of Universal's Monsters Universe franchise, which kicked off with 2014's Dracula Untold.
Alex Kurtzman directed this action-adventure film starring Tom Cruise, Russel Crowe, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson and Courtney B Vance. The Mummy is slated for release on June 9, 2017.
