The official trailer of superstar Mohanlal's "Pulimurugan" directed by Vysakh was released on the YouTube page of Mulakuppadam Films on Saturday, Sept. 10. The 1-minute 42-second video gives a glimpse of the action thriller's plot.

Earlier in May, the makers had released a one-minute-21-second teaser of the Mohanlal-starrer, which garnered tremendous response from the audience to become one of the most viewed Malayalam movie teasers. The video has so far been watched more than 1.2 million times and the team of "Pulimurugan" expects that the trailer of the action thriller might break its existing records.

Mohanlal plays the role of a wild hunter named Murugan in the thriller, which is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. The big-budget movie, banked by Tomichan Mulakuppadam, has an ensemble cast, including Jagapati Babu, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kamalini Mukherjee, Namitha, Bala, Vinu Mohan, Lal, Kishore and Makarand Deshpande in key roles.

Udayakrishna has penned the screenplay of the action thriller shot in Kerala, Vietnam, South Africa and Thailand. While Gopi Sunder has composed the background score and soundtrack of the movie, the cinematography has been handled by Shaji. After postponing the release dates several times, the makers of "Pulimurugan" have confirmed that the Mohanlal-starrer will hit more than 3,000 screens worldwide as a Pooja release on Oct. 7.
