Episode 2 of the recently-premiered "Modern Family" season 7 will be aired by ABC on Wednesday, 30 September and it will mark Alex's departure from the comforts of her home and onto her new life as a college student. And, if the "Modern Family" fans know anything at all, it is that now is the time for another fun episodes filled with "Phil's-osophies".
For those late to the party, "Phil's-osophies" are Phil Dunphy's (Ty Burrell) collection of life lessons. He has even made a book of it, and had parted his wisdom to his elder daughter Haley (Sarah Hyland) when she left for her short stint in college. Now, it is his younger daughter's turn, and it looks she might make it harder for them, by trying to be too independent.
Alex (Ariel Winter) does not want her parents to know when she is leaving for Caltech because she does not want them to baby her, but wants them to treat her as an adult who is perfectly capable of moving out on her own. It is also understood that since Claire (Julie Bowen) is busy with work, Alex's leaving is likely to affect Phil more, so buckle up for some touching "Phil's-osophies" that we are all going to quote for the rest of our lives.
Here are a few of them we heard in "Schooled", in case you want a warm-up of what is to come:
"When life gives you lemonade, make lemons. Life'll be all like 'what?!'"
"If you're ever in a jam, a crayon scrunched up under your nose makes a good pretend mustache."
"You can tell a lot about a person from his Biography."
"If you love something, set it free. Unless it's a Tiger."
Other than more of these awesome one-liners, you can also expect to see a little bit of inconsequential Haley-Andy (Adam Devine) drama, Gloria (Sofia Vergara) experiencing the blues about Joe joining pre-school and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) adding landlord to their resume inorder to bring home more dough.
It is also understood that Luke (Nolan Gould) may start hanging out with the wrong crowd and have a slight brush-in with the wrong side of the law.
Watch out for season 7 episode 2 of "Modern Family" at 9.00pm (EST) on Wednesday, 30 September on ABC. You can also watch "The Day Alex Left for College" live on ABC Go!
