"Modern Family" might be in its seventh season, but the writers have really managed to keep the storyline fresh, while ensuring that each character's development, especially the children, is believable to the viewers. This is why, instead of giving in to the fans' demands of bringing Haley and Andy right away, the showrunners made them take baby steps towards accepting each other. However, after the damning wait, we will finally get to see our favourite couple get together in the season premiere on Wednesday, 23 September.
"Modern Family" has posted a preview for the season 7 premiere on its Facebook page and it looks like the episode will kick off right from where season 6 finale ended. We saw Phil (Ty Burell) learning that his daughter Haley (Sarah Hyland) and Jay's "manny" Andy (Adam Devine) are in love. The two are unaware of each other's feelings and Phil is also unable to tell them.

Phil, who was sick, was speaking to his family via a robot and the voice of the robot got turned off somehow. In the preview, we see that the volume is fixed and Phil announces to the entire family that Andy is going to a beach to propose to his girlfriend Beth (Laura Ashley Samuels). Haley immediately declares that she knows which is Andy's favourite beach. This inspires her brother Luke (Nolan Gould) to sting her with, "I thought you were his favourite b**ch".
We had earlier reported that Julie Bowen, who plays Haley's mother Claire, was spotted with Haley in Santa Monica Pier. This, along with the newly released preview, confirms our theory that Haley interrupts Andy's proposal and declares her love for him. This would work out great for the thousands of fans that voted in our poll and confessed that they would love to see Haley and Andy together in season 7.
Watch out for season 7 episode 1 of "Modern Family" at 9.00 pm (EST) on Wednesday, 23 September, on ABC. You can also live stream "Summer Lovin'" via ABC Go.
Haley and Andy have taken us on quite a journey with their relationship. See how it unfolds, this Wednesday at 9|8c on ABC's #ModernFamily.
