Graeme Smith-led Virgo Super Kings will lock horns with Adam Gilchrist-led Sagittarius Strikers in the third game of the Masters Champions League (MCL) 2020 at the Dubai International Stadium on Friday.
What an epic encounter its going to be! A lot of firepower in both sides and the stage is set for a riveting clash between the Super Kings and the Strikers.
The first game of MCL T20 2016 between Gemini Arabians and Libra Legends turned out to be a run feast. The wicket had a tinge of grass, which Legends skipper Jacques Kallis completely misread and chose to bowl first. Arabians capitalised on it and posted a mammoth total of 234 runs, and won the match by 78 runs.
These two sides also have players who can score as big as Kumar Sangakkara did for the Arabians on Thursday at the same venue.
Smith will lead the charge, which consists of names like Brett Lee, Jonty Rhodes, Mohammad Yousuf, Owais Shah, Azhar Mahmood, Jacob Oram and Murali Kartik.
Meanwhile Gilchrist's side has Mahela Jayawardene, Michael Carberry (who was in good form in the recently concluded Big Bash League), Jonathan Trott, Daniel Vettori, Shane Bond, Mushtaq Ahmed, Nathan Hauritz and Tino Best, among others.
Gilchrist was present during the first match, and shared his thoughts on his side with commentators Mark Butcher and Mark Howard. Gilly said Shane Bond has been bowling pretty quick in the nets. Carberry and Jayawardene were in good shape and form during the Big Bash League as well. Altogether, his side is raring to go against the Super Kings on Friday.
