It is absurd when two people decide to marry based on others' matchmaking skills. Yet, six individuals on FYI's reality show, "Married at First Sight", are doing just that. The new season premieres with three couples who will meet their better half only at the altar.
If you're wondering what to expect in season 3 premiere, then the reality show has juxtaposed three weddings with a bit of drama. After all, on most occasions, weddings are a platform for drama.
In the promo for the premiere, the cast members are seen getting ready for their big day. There is apprehension, doubt, a sense of excitement and anxiety among the couples. This fear is particularly felt by Vanessa Nelson, a 26-year-old Corporate Events Manager from New York. In the promo, she says, "Okay. I'm changing my mind. Let's go back."
However, it appears that that the contestant may not change her mind after all. In a recent interview, Vanessa said that the divorces between the previous season's contestants haven't deterred her. "Just the possibility and there's so many people that want to be a part of this and to be matched out of thousands of people, you have to kind of think, 'Ooh, it's like we're meant to be," she said.
The season 3 premiere episode, a two-hour special includes a matchmaking session with experts Dr. Joseph Cilona clinical psychologist; Dr. Logan Levkoff sexologist, Dr. Pepper Schwartz sociologist, and Greg Epstein a humanist chaplain, who match people based on their scientific knowledge. Furthermore, this season will be shot in Atlanta, unlike the previous seasons, which were filmed in New York.
"Married at First Sight" season 3 airs on Tuesday, 1 December, at 9pm EST on FYI. You can live stream the episode online here.
