The Detroit Tigers are will look to continue their dominance over the Kansas City Royals this season when they take up the next game tonight in the AL Central race.

The Tigers have won 10 games against Kansas City. Torii Hunter took two out of his three hits in the third inning to help beat Kansas City 9-5 on Monday.
''I thought there was going to be more energy in our ballclub today [than in previous games], because we're looking up at the Royals in the standings and this is our chance,'' the Tigers manager said.
Nick Castellanos and Victor Martinez had two and three hits respectively. Castellanos also had two runs and two RBIs for the Detroit Tigers.
Justin Verlander (13-12) gave four runs and six hits in seven innings that let Tigers move up in the American League.
''It was pretty good,'' Verlander said. ''They put up a couple runs in a couple innings, but even after they got those two early runs, I went back and watched the video and those were all good pitches. They've just got a good lineup.''
Kansas City starter Jeremy Guthrie allowed 6 runs and 10 hits in 2 2/3 innings. He had given up 14 runs in his last meeting with the Tigers.
''We were down six and I knew we were going to battle back and make it interesting,'' Kansas City manager Ned Yost said. ''We had the tying runs on in the eighth.''
''He was one pitch away from getting out of that third inning but it just kept snowballing and he couldn't make that pitch."
The starters of the upcoming game on Wednesday night are Jason Vargas (11-7, 3.14 era) for the Kansas City Royals and Max Scherzer (15-5, 3.25 era) of the Tigers. Scherzer has a career record of 9-5 against Kansas City and the Tigers will hope to pull off their third straight victory.
