Following the premiere of season 2 of "Madame Secretary", questions surrounding the attack on Air Force One has become the main plot of the show. Every character on the political drama has been trying to investigate and uncover the truth about the politically motivated attack. So far, Elizabeth has been driven to believe that the Russians attacked the aircraft, but new intelligence surfaces in the latest episode.
In season 2 episode 9, titled "Russian Roulette", Elizabeth, who strongly believes that Russia is enemy No.1, is about to make a speech at the UN. However, before she addresses the assembly, her husband Henry (Tim Daly) tells her that Russia did not attack the President's aircraft. This leaves her confused. Elizabeth knows that her country has decided to launch an attack on Russia. Will it be too late for Elizabeth to stop this?
According to Movie News Guide, Elizabeth seeks the help of speech writer Matt Mahoney (Geoff Arend) and policy advisor Jay Whitman (Sebastian Arcelus) to reduce the extent of damage that's about to unfold.
Elizabeth may stop the attack and limit the rhetoric in her speech, but she won't escape from this unscathed. In the promo, Henry is asked, " Do you want to live in prison for the rest of your mortal days? The both of you?"
Season 2 episode 9's synopsis reads:
"Shortly before Elizabeth is to deliver a speech at the United Nations accusing Russia for the attack on Air Force One, Henry shares information that makes her reconsider her theory."
