As a new episode of "The Last Ship" airs, viewers will witness just how much trouble Mike Slattery (Adam Baldwin) and his men are in. In the latest instalment, Season 3 episode 3 titled "Shanzhai," the U.S. will try its best to save USS Nathan James's crew, but it might be too late for one person.
After a two hour special that depicted the dangers that confront humanity and the U.S., the hit TNT TV series will focus heavily on two characters, Slattery and Chandler. Fans of the show will remember that Slattery and his team were taken hostage in the previous episode. Now, it is up to Chandler to find and save his fellow countrymen.
The promo for the upcoming episode of "The Last Ship" captures a very anxious and scared Slattery as he is tied and tortured. The preview clip indicates that the pirates draw blood from the ship's captain but their plan might not materialise. Reason? Slattery spills a secret that might deter the pirates from injecting him.
It is still unclear what secret Slattery will tell but Baldwin indicated that his character might die soon. In an interview with Buddy TV, the actor said, "In the political realm, our illustrious Captain Chandler gets bumped up to Chief of Naval Operations and someone has to step up and take control of the Nathan James and it's me [Mike Slattery]. It's pretty short-lived because of the things that happen, but we return to it."

Chandler scrambles to find answers in an Asian Dodge City. Meanwhile, Slattery seeks the truth about his predicament.
