The much-awaited trailer of Kamal Haasan's "Uttama Villain" has been released as a surprise treat for the fans. (Check trailer below)
The trailer was slated for release on 14 January, but the makers decided to unveil it a day ahead, on Tuesday. Even though it does not reveal much, the video shows that the film is set in two different time periods.
The flick will be a visual treat for Kamal's fans as the actor appears in different looks in the trailer. The video is certain to impress the audience and boost their expectations with regard to the project.
Directed by Ramesh Aravind, "Uttama Villain" has Kamal playing dual roles in the film. The actor will be seen in the role of a 13th century drama artist and a 21st century superstar.
The film also boasts of an ensemble cast including veteran director KS Vishwanath, legendary director Balachander, Pooja Kumar, Andrea, Jayaram, Parvathy, Nassar, Urvashi and MS Bhaskar.
"Uttama Villain" is the last film of director Balachander, who passed away last month owing to age-related ailments. The film's music is composed by Ghibran and cinematography is handled by Shyam Dutt. Thirrupathi Brothers and Raaj Kamal Films International have produced the project.
Fans are expecting a lot from "Uttama Villain" due to the presence of a stellar cast. The film's first look motion poster, which was released last year, received fantastic feedback from the audience. The newly-released trailer is sure to take the internet by storm.
The shooting of the film is over and the post-production work is going on in full swing. The comedy drama is expected to hit the screens in February, though official sources have not confirmed the release date as yet.
This year, Kamal fans will enjoy a triple treat as three of his films are scheduled to hit the screens. "Uttama Villain" is likely to release first, following which "Papanasam" (Tamil remake of Malayalam film "Drishyam") and spy-thriller flick "Vishwaroopam 2" (sequel to "Vishwaroopam") will hit the theatres.
