Although neither Juventus and AC Milan are dominating the Serie A table at the moment, a clash between the two Italian powerhouses is always a mouthwatering prospect. The two teams go head-to-head in Gameweek 13 of the Italian league on Saturday at the Juventus Stadium.
Milan have remained unbeaten in their last five games, and are slowly but steadily making their move to the top after some good performances. The Rossoneri are currently sixth in the Serie A table with 20 points, while Juventus are a position lower in the table with 18 points.
The Turin giants are celebrating the 20th anniversary of legendary custodian Gianluigi Buffon's Serie A debut. It was on 19 November, 1995, that the Italy veteran made his first appearance in the Italian top fight for Parma as a 17-year-old, against Milan.
Buffon may be doubtful for tonight's game as he has a slight knock, but Milan custodian Gianluigi Donnarumma won't be doubtful. The 16-year-old Italian goalkeeper, who shares his first name with the legendary Buffon, has been a revelation in the country's football scene.
Donnarumma made his debut in the Serie A this October and was chosen ahead of experienced custodian Diego Lopez to make a start. The teenager has been getting rave reviews for his performances as he has won two clean sheets for Milan in four appearances.
Colombian striker Carlos Bacca has been on a great form this season for Milan, and has six goals from 12 appearances so far. The Rossoneri, however, have not been too impressive in the defensive front as they already have conceded 16 goals from 12 games.
Juventus striker Alvaro Morata will be ready to make use of the visitors' defensive frailties on Saturday, as he looks forward to the mouthwatering clash. "It doesn't matter what my thoughts are [about the game]. This is Juve-Milan, a match where it doesn't matter what the form of the two teams are," Morata told La Gazetta dello Sport.
"History says that it is the most important match in Italy."
