Much to the delight of its fans, The CW has renewed the comedy-horror series, "iZombie" for a third season along with renewing next seasons of its other popular shows like "The Flash," "Arrow," and "Supernatural." 

As reported by Inquisitr, the channel announced the renewal of the series in a press release. According to TV Series Finale, The CW decided to renew "iZombie" after the Season 2 of the series received 1.37 million viewers that encouraged the channel to move ahead with the show.

While the fans of the series are undoubtedly happy with the news, the cast and crew of "iZombie" also expressed their delight through various social media platforms.

Rose McIver, who plays the protagonist of the series, Liv, announced Season 3 with the following tweet:

Rahul Kohli, who plays Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti in the series, also posted a video on his Twitter handle to show his excitement:

In the upcoming episode titled "He Blinded me... with Science" of The CW's comedy-horror series "iZombie," Liv and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) will investigate the murder of a research scientist.

According to the synopsis by TV.com: "A research scientist who was recently demoted at her job is murdered. Liv and Clive investigate and are shocked to learn where the victim had been employed.

"Meanwhile, Blaine pays Ravi a visit at the morgue. Liv discovers something new about Drake and Vaughn du Clark confronts Major."

In the previous episode titled "Eternal Sunshine of the Caffeinated Mind," the death of the owner of Ravi's favourite coffee shop, "Positivity," left Liv seeing the bright side to everything around her.

Meanwhile, the newly-found tainted utopium failed to cure Ravi's rat. It was revealed that Drake was secretly working for the police. Shortly after losing his sense of taste, Blaine was killed by Mr. Boss who discovered that Blaine was acting as a double agent and was working against him with the DA.

However, Blaine resurrected as a zombie. Finally, Liv discovered that her roommate Gilda was Rita, Major's alleged lover.
