FC Goa will take on Delhi Dynamos in match no. 2 of the Indian Super League (ISL) 2015 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, Goa on Sunday, 4 October.
ISL 2015 kick-started on Saturday when the defending champions Atletico de Kolkata snatched a close victory against the mighty Chennaiyin FC at the latter's home ground in a thrilling five-goal encounter.
The first game has set the tone for the rest of the league and the Indian football fans will be expecting yet another mouth-watering clash on Sunday when Zico's FC Goa will take on Roberto Carlos's Delhi Dynamos.
Even if it's the home ground of FC Goa, the football fans will definitely go gaga when Carlos will walk out through those tunnels alongside the other stars John Arne Riise, Florent Malouda, Lucio and others who will also be featuring in this match on Sunday.
Carlos said it will indeed be a special moment to walk out on the field against Goa on Saturday.
Indian star forward Robin Singh will also be looking forward to play alongside UEFA Champions League winners like Riise and Malouda.
"FC Goa is coached by Zico, who was not just my coach at Fenerbahche in Turkey but also a father-figure to me. This match is not just a clash between a student and teacher, like Zico said, but also a father and son," Carlos said at the press conference on Saturday.
"We know FC Goa will be very tough. This will be a clash of two teams who are equally determined to win the ISL title. I can promise everyone that this will be an entertaining match," he added.
If one believes that Dynamos will prevail easily because of the quality of players they have, then they might just be proven wrong. FC Goa has seven Brazilian custodians like Leo Moura, Victor Simoes, Reinaldo and Jonatan Lucca who have all made their appearances for well-known clubs across the globe. Lucio will be the spearhead of FC Goa's defense with bag-full of rich experience. The midfield will also feature a special player, Jofre Mateu Gonzalez, who played a crucial role in Atletico de Kolkata's ISL victory in 2014.
"Not just Goa, all other seven teams too want to win the title. This will be very competitive," Zico told reporters on Saturday.
FC Goa skipper Lucio, who also attended a press conference on Saturday, said that they will have to play as a cohesive unit until the end of the tournament so that they can lift the trophy.
"You cannot look at any individual in the team and expect him to win the championship. Individuals can win you matches but the championship can only be won by a team," Lucio said.
