English Premier League champions Manchester City will round up their group campaign in the International Champions Cup against Greek side Olympiacos at the TCF Bank Stadium on Saturday.
Liverpool are at the top of Group B and are likely to advance, but a slip against AC Milan in their last game, later in the day will open gates of the final for either of these teams. Both Man City and Olympiacos can advance into the final and they will fancy their chances at Minneapolis today.
Stevan Jovetic will be a key player for City as he has scored brace for the Premier League champs in both previous games against Milan and Liverpool. The Montenegrin will be aiming to continue his breathtaking form in the match against Olympiacos.
Jovetic was troubled by injuries in his last season with the Citizens, but the 24-year-old striker has come out flying in sky-blue shirt this time around.
"I have said before that Stevan is a very important player for us and he proved again what an asset he can be," City boss Manuel Pellegrini said. "He had a number of different injuries last season but now he is fully fit."
"I'm sure if he continues in this way he will show why he is here," he added. "If he's fit all the year he will be a very important player for us."
Pellegrini revealed that midfielders David Silva and Samir Nasri will also feature in the match against the Greeks. The Citizens' boss said he is pleased with his team's progress in the preseason matches and insisted that the players are doing well.
"I've been delighted with pre-season so far and I feel we have improved with each game we have played during our time in the USA," Pellegrini said. "We have two weeks before the start of the Premier League and we are doing well.
"We are trying to get our team ready for the new season by giving them as many minutes on the pitch as possible as equally as we can," he added. "We are building towards our first game of the season and things are going really well."
Meanwhile, Olympiacos' Dimitris Kolovos said it will be a tough match against the Premier League champions and insisted that they are prepared to face City, after playing tough matches in the International Champions Cup against Liverpool and Milan.
"Until now, we have displayed well in the ICC, and indeed there is another tough match coming," Kolovos said. "The fixture against Manchester City will be as important as the previous ones, and we shall deal with it by getting properly prepared for that."
