Mohun Bagan take on Mumbai FC in an Sunday I-League encounter at the Barasat District Sports Stadium in Kolkata. Mohun Bagan have remained unbeaten in this edition of the I-League, and will look to continue the unbeaten run.

The Mariners have been in superb form this season, and they have given their fans plenty of reasons to rejoice. They are surely one of the I-League contenders along with Bengaluru FC, who are not far away in the I-League points table.

Mohun Bagan are coming into this match after thrashing South China Club 4-0 in an Asia Football Confederation Cup (AFC Cup) match.

Their red-hot form will be crucial in this match as well. If they want to retain their position at the top of the I-League points table, they cannot afford to draw or lose points against Mumbai FC. That will give an outright chance to Sunil Chhetri & Co to edge past the Mariners in the points table.

The Mariners' coach Sanjoy Sen is serving an eight-match suspension for his derogatory comments against All India Football Federation (AIFF). Therefore, he will not be present at the venue during their clash against Mumbai FC. Mohun Bagan assistant coach Shankar Lal Chakraborty will take charge during the match at the stadium.

"Sanjoy cannot be present on the ground because of the penalty we are facing. But, he is always with us and he is my advisor. In the match too we will implement his ideologies," Mariners assistant coach was quoted as saying by Goal.

"Sanjoy never goes man-to-man, but we know they have excellent individual talent. Arata Izumi, Eric Brown and Jayesh Rane have caught my eye. Pratik Shirodkar, who was with us, is in top form. Ashutosh and Anwar have been doing good in defence."

Mumbai FC are fifth in the I-League points table with 12 points from 11 games. They are 10 points behind the Mariners. They surely have a lot of catching up to do.

It is a huge task for Khalid Jamil and his men. They have not managed to win a single game in their last four encounters. It is highly unlikely Mumbai FC will cause an upset Sunday.

But they do have a proper arsenal to cause some serious problems for the Mariners at the Barasat Stadium.

"Mohun Bagan have been playing well since last season, and considering their recent form, they are the team to beat. They have a very strong attack, which includes Sony Norde, Cornell Glen, Jeje Lalpekhulua and skipper Yusa Katsumi and they are playing well," Mumbai FC coach Jamil said.

"It's going to be a tough match, but we try to put up a good fight and get a positive result."
