Now, a California-based pediatrician has come up with a useful tip for parents on 'how to calm a crying baby' in a video that has gone viral on social media.
In a career spanning 30 years, Dr Robert Hamilton has handled many new born babies and often asks parents to try out his four-step trick to calm crying babies who are upto 3 months of age.
In the video, Hamilton asks the parents to fold the baby's arms across the chest, secure arms gently, grasp diaper area and then rock the baby at a 45-degree angle. With this simple trick, two babies stop crying in the video.

"Finally, if your baby does not quiet down, think about two things, maybe your baby is not feeling well or is hungry," Dr Hamilton explains in the video.
In 5 days, the video was viewed by more than four million people after it was uploaded on Dr Hamilton's YouTube channel.
