An incredible video has been released showing a helpful dolphin retrieving an iPhone that a woman had dropped in the Atlantic Ocean and returning it to her. Teressa Cee, a dancer for the Miami Heat basketball team, was holidaying in the Bahamas when she dropped her phone into the sea.
The amateur footage, filmed by another tourist, then captures the moment the dolphin surfaces by the boat with the phone in its mouth. The animal then goes right up to Cee and opens its mouth, allowing her to take the phone back.
Cee posted the video on Facebook, saying: True Story: While in the Bahamas, I had the opportunity to go swimming with dolphins on Blue Lagoon Island. We were filming on this floating platform in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
So, against my better judgment, I asked someone to hold my phone for me and I accidentally dropped my phone into water and it sank to the bottom. Cacique, the dolphin, then retrieved my phone and brought it back up to me. Cutest thing ever!
Eighteen-year-old Cacique is one of the dolphins tourists can swim with at the Unexo attraction on Grand Bahama Island. Some 2.28m in length and weighing 159kg, The Underwater Explorers Society on Grand Bahama Island states: Cacique is the most fun-loving dolphin and can be very talkative! One of the smartest dolphins, Cacique enjoys the open-ocean swims and the dolphin dive with his best friend Kaholo.
Since being published on the 21 September the video has gone viral, attracting more than 2.2m views on Facebook.
