The transformation of Homicide detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli) will be the major highlight of "Grimm" season 5 premiere episode titled "The Grimm Identity". The sequel will be aired on NBC this Friday, 30 October, at 9pm.
The first episode of the supernatural series will show the protagonist on fire as the official synopsis of it read: "In the wake of his mother's beheading and Juliette's death, things have never been more chaotic for Nick. Having lost so much, Nick must dig deep and decide what type of person he wants to be, while also coming to grips with fathering a child with his once sworn enemy, Adalind Schade (Claire Coffee). His search for the truth leads him to FBI Agent Chavez (guest star Elizabeth Rodriguez) and puts him at odds with those close to him."
Although the description of "The Grimm Identity" does not have any detail of Nick's girlfriend Juliette Silverton (Bitsie Tulloch), the trailer focuses on her death and funeral. The clip even portrays Theresa Rubel aka Trubel (Jacqueline Toboni) in danger as it shows a group of masked people kidnapping her.
The death of Juliette towards the end of season 4 came as a shock for the viewers and the creators are yet to reveal any detail about her return. While executive producer Jim Kouf said that many of the fans "want her back and were angry that she died", David Greenwalt said there are some who liked the move, according to TV Guide.
Creator Kouf even revealed the theme of season 5 and said that it is the coming storm. "A storm raises all boats and casts a lot of conflict and confusion on all the characters," he added.
The first episode of "Grimm" season 5 will also feature Russell Hornsby as Hank Griffin, Silas Weir Mitchell as Monroe, Sasha Roiz as Captain Sean Renard, Bree Turner as Rosalee Calvert and Reggie Lee as Drew Wu.
