Grey's Anatomy will be back on ABC with a brand new episode on Thursday, September 22, that will pick up immediately from the events of Season 12 finale that saw Alex Karev beating DeLuca to pulp. All DeLuca was doing was comforting a very drunk Jo who was spilling out about being married and hiding the fact about her marital status from Alex. But when Alex returns home and finds DeLuca and Jo in a situation that seemed compromising, he lost his temper and proceeded to beat up DeLuca.
This is going to have a serious impact on Alex's future with Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital as well as his relationship with Jo. The promo for the premiere titled "Undo" does not paint a positive picture for Alex, who might lose his job and even get arrested.
As for DeLuca, he seems to be in a pretty bad shape, and according to Debbie Allen, who directed the premiere, viewers should be worried about him. Spoilers doing the rounds indicate that DeLuca will lose his eyesight as a result of his injuries, cutting short his career in medicine.
There will definitely be consequences to Alex's impulsive act, and quite a number of viewers are blaming Jo for what happened. They reason that all this violence could have been avoided if she had been honest with Alex, who was looking forward to a life with her.
The synopsis for the episode reads:
When one of Grey Sloan's own lands in the hospital, Bailey tries to figure out what happened while the rest of the doctors jump in to help. Meredith juggles huge secrets that affect her relationships with Alex and Maggie. While Richard helps Jo with a big decision, April and Catherine clash over the new baby.
Grey's Anatomy airs Thursdays on ABC. The new episodes can be watched online on abc.com or abc.go.com.
