Just a few minutes into Zoom's arrival at Central City, after the wicked speedster has already robbed Barry (Grant Gustin) of his speed by paralysing his legs. Barry's current predicament is similar to that of Flash of Earth 2, Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), which was predicted by Jay.
Jay had refused to help Barry face Zoom because he was worried Barry was not ready to face him, and left Star Labs, leaving Team Flash and Dr Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) to face off against Zoom. In the upcoming "Gorilla Warfare", Barry is moving around on a wheelchair, while his Flash suit hangs in Star Labs.
He is presumably stuck at Team Flash's hideout, seeing as explaining his paralysis to others, especially Patty (Shantel VanSanten), who is a detective. However, Patty will start getting suspicious about Barry's lies, especially after she starts working on a case that marks the return of Grodd, the gorilla that lives in the sewers of Central City.
In a promo clip from "Gorilla Warfare", we learn that Grodd has become smarter than when we met him in Season 1, and is now on a mission to bring more of his kind to the world. The telepathic gorilla even kidnaps Caitlyn (Danielle Panabaker) in the episode, possibly with the intention of using her as a catalyst to get the job done.
On a lighter note, we will get to see Cisco (Carlos Valdes) going on a date with the new Barista at Jitters, Kendra Saunders aka Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée). From the promos for the upcoming episode, it looks like Zoom and his storyline will take the bench for this episode, as Barry hopefully gets his strength back and reveals his superhero identity to Patty.
Watch out for Season 2 Episode 7 of "The Flash" at 8.00 pm (EST) on Tuesday, 17 November. You can also live stream "Gorilla Warfare" via CWTV.
