Indian Super League side Delhi Dynamos take on Danish side FC Vestsjælland in their final preseason game of the summer, ahead of the second season of the ISL.
The Delhi side played three friendly games in Sweden prior to embarking on the Denmark trip, where they play the former Superliga side today. The Danish outfit, formerly known as FCV Vikings, finished second in the Danish first division in the 2012-13 season to clinch promotion to the top flight.
However, they were relegated from the Superliga last season. They also finished as runners up in the Danish Cup this year.
Delhi Dynamos, meanwhile, have won just once out of their preseason friendly games in Sweden this summer. Former Liverpool star John Arne Riise, present West Brom forward Adil Nabi, and former Chelsea winger Florent Malouda remained the scorers for the ISL side so far in their preseason tour.
Nabi scored a brace as the Dynamos defeated Swedish side Skene with a 3-2 scoreline in their third friendly game. Malouda remained the other scorer.
Both Riise and Nabi remained the scorers for Dynamos as they were defeated at the hands of Varberg BoIS FC and BK Hacken in the first two friendly games. While the Dynamos lost 3-1 against Varberg, Hacken handed the ISL side a 7-2 defeat at the Bravida Arena in Gothenburg.
However, Riise feels that more than the result it's the exposure the team are getting that matters. "Football is all about getting people who love the game together. It's been incredible this opportunity in Scandinavian. We had such a great time in Sweden! Now here in Denmark i'm sure it's gonna be great," the 34-year-old said in a statement.
Indian defender Robert Lalthlamuana is keen about the challenge today. "I'm looking forward to play against this team. I have watched a few Danish games, they have good players so it's another challenge for us," he said.
The Roberto Carlos-led side are believed to feature a strong lineup today considering it is their last preseason game. The likes of Robin Singh, Gustavo dos Santos, and Hans Mulder are available for the game, apart from Malouda, Riise, Nabi and Carlos.
FC Vestsjælland vs Delhi Dynamos kicks off today at 10 pm IST. The match will be streamed Live on the official website of Delhi Dynamos (free for Indian users only, while international users have to pay nominal charges).
