VH1's latest reality show "Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn" will provoke a few (or a lot) of tears. Psychologist Dr. Jenn Mann will attempt to resolve deep-seated family problems in celebrities' lives by putting them in difficult situations.
To be sure, "Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn" will be similar to the psychologist's earlier show, "Couples Therapy," in many ways. The only exception we can find is the tone of the new show, which appears to be more aggressive and emotional. In the trailer, the psychologist says: "Relationships and crisis can be extremely volatile as witnessed on 'Couples Therapy.' Those conflicts are often rooted in years of family struggle. So now, I'm turning my focus to dysfunctional families."
The cast of VH1's new reality show includes Tiffany "New York" Pollard and her mother Sister Patterson; Dina Lohan and Michael; Damon Dash and brothers Jeremy and Bobby; Bam Margera and his mother April, and Briana Dejesus and sister Brittany.
Tiffany "New York" Pollard and mother Sister Patterson
Reality star Tiffany's relationship with her mother is difficult and trying. Tiffany tries to have a meaningful relationship with her mother, but it comes at the prospect of facing physical and mental abuse. Her mother belittles her and what ensues is a fight that never seems to stop.
Dina Lohan and Michael
Although Lindsay Lohan's parents, Dina and Michael were divorced in 2007, they try to mend their relationship for the sake of their children. This proves to be a difficult task as both of them seem to have trust issues. In the trailer, Michael refers to his wife as a pathological liar.
Damon Dash and brothers Jeremy and Bobby
Music mogul Damon Dash deals with sibling rivalry. His step siblings, Jeremy and Bobby and him don't agree on most things. Their relationship is marred with lack of communication and deep-seated anger.
Bam Margera and mother April
Fans of MTV's "Jackass" would remember Bam Margera and his mother, April. The reality star who found fame has battled alcoholism since. In the trailer, Dr. Jenn tells April that her son's life is in peril. The reality star is often seen drunk and aggressive in the video clip.
Briana Dejesus and sister Brittany
The "Teen Mom" stars' pregnancies were chronicled in MTV's "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom 3," in which Brittany terminated her pregnancy and her sister delivered a baby. If there's one thing that keeps the sisters together, it is Briana's daughter.
"Family Therapy with Dr. Jenn" airs Wednesday, March 16, at 9 p.m on VH1. You can live-stream the episode here.
