The Season 1 finale of The Exorcist will be aired on Fox this Friday at 9 pm ET, and viewers will finally find out if there is a way for Angela to be saved.
After decades of not being able to get to her, the demon finally succeeded in possessing Angela and the previous episode saw her going on a killing spree. Henry found out that Angela was possessed after he checks out page 162 in the book Chris wrote about Regan's possession where it is said that the demon will haunt Angela/Regan forever.
The family now has to deal with a possessed Angela, and the parallel storyline focuses on the assassination attempt on the Pope. Is the demon somehow connected with the Friars of Ascension?
Showrunner Jeremy Slater recently sat down with Screener TV to talk about the finale where he addressed this, saying: "The main demon we've been following has never been a part of the conspiracy taking place in Chicago, regarding the Pope. And that's by design. We felt it would feel like giant bullsh*t if all this was happening — concurrently, this demon that was fighting these priests was also masterminding an assassination attempt on the side."
The official synopsis for Three Rooms reads: "Everything has led to this moment. Forty years ago, the demon was denied its prize. Now it will stop at nothing to destroy Angela Rance and her family. Their only hope lies in two men: Marcus and Tomas. But with the enemies of the church mobilising against Pope Sebastian, time is running out for everyone."
Three Rooms airs Friday at 9 pm ET on Fox. Bruce Davison will guest star as Pope Sebastian in the Season 1 finale. The Exorcist episodes are available for streaming via Fox on Demand and they can also be downloaded on iTunes.
