Arsenal will be preparing for a crunch battle in the Premier League on Saturday as they take on Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in their 11th game of the tournament.
The Gunners are in top form at the moment, as they are currently at the second position in the table, just a place below Manchester City, who also have the same number of points but a better goal difference.
Swansea, meanwhile, have not had one of the greatest starts to the season, and are currently in the 12th spot, with just three wins so far. However, the home advantage can be expected to pump them up today, much more so because the Swans have been unable to record a win in their last three games.
Garry Monk's side will be looking to overturning that stat today as they take on Arsenal. It is also to be noted that Swansea, under Monk, have remained unbeaten against the Gunners.
"The bottom line is if you go toe-to-toe with Arsenal and they play their best and we're at our best, they are highly likely to win the game, so you have to come up with a game plan," Monk was quoted as saying by the Mirror ahead of the game.
"We have played differently in all the games against them," the Swansea manager added.
Arsenal have got a massive injury problem ahead of the game, with Theo Walcott, Aaron Ramsey, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain sidelined for a long duration. Mikel Arteta, David Ospina, Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck as well as Tomas Rosicky also remain on the sidelines.
However, the stage is set for 23-year-old Costa Rican forward Joel Campbell to get his first start in the Premier League with the Gunners today.
"He [Campbell] has two positions — right side and centre-forward,'' Wenger was quoted as saying by ESPN. "He is a bit of a mixture between Walcott and [Olivier] Giroud. He likes to play with his back to the goal like Giroud, but is a bit of a dribbler as well.''
The Gunners were handed a shock defeat by Sheffield Wednesday at the League Cup fixture in the midweek, and it needs to be seen if Wenger's army muscle up and go for a turnaround today.
Possible starting XI
Swansea: Fabianski; Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Naughton; Ki, Shelvey; Ayew, Sigurdsson, Montero; Gomis.
Arsenal: Cech; Bellerin, Monreal, Koscielny, Mertesacker; Cazorla, Coquelin; Campbell, Sanchez, Ozil; Giroud.
