Chelsea vs Crystal Palace

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho will be looking to continue his impressive record at the Stamford Bridge as he goes into his 100th game at the stadium today, where the Blues welcome Crystal Palace.

The Portuguese coach has just lost one of his last 99 games as the manager of Chelsea at home, and building on the good record is something he is keen on.

Crystal Palace should remember that the Blues beat them last season at home, with three games to spare, to clinch the Premier League title in May, and that should give the Eagles enough motivation to avenge the loss as they make their trip once again to London.

It is to be noted that Palace have won the maximum amount of points in the Premier League in the away matches this year, and Chelsea's slow start to the 2015-16 season is something they can capitalise on.

The defending Champions have just won four points from their last three games this season, and have conceded as many as seven goals in the three games. They are currently tenth in the league and their only win came against West Brom at the Hawthorns last week.

"We have played one match at home [against Swansea], two matches away and have four points which is not what we want but it is not a drama," Mourinho said.

"We know we can improve and are going to improve. This is the Premier League and when you are five points behind the leader in another league, that can be complicated. In the Premier League it is not complicated."

The acquisition of Pedro Rodriguez from Barcelona seems to have boosted the strength and the morale of the side as the Spaniard was in the score-sheet, along with compatriot Cesar Azpilicueta, and Diego Costa, in the previous game.

In the defence, Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill are likely to be deployed as centre-backs in the game, in the absence of the suspended John Terry. New signing Baba Rahman could also feature for Mourinho's side.

Meanwhile, Alan Pardew's side will be looking to building on their two out of three wins in the league this season. Record signing Yohan Cabaye and defender Joel Ward could be expected to step their game.

"When you look at the top clubs, if they have a bad result or something doesn't quite go their way they're always looking for a response so you can never underestimate teams like Chelsea," Ward said.

"People say that it's a good time to play them but they've got world class players that can win games on their own. Their quality does shine through at times."

Star winger Yannick Bolasie is set to feature in the game today, while Palace captain Mile Jedinak will not be a part owing to the hamstring injury he suffered in the League Cup game this week.
