If there's one character that's had it easy in season 2, then it is Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard). The music mogul miraculously managed to get himself out of prison and exposed Cookie's (Taraji P Henson) attempt to take control of his company. However, his luck seems to have run out and the latest episode will depict a complete change in his fortune.
In season 2 episode 10, titled "Et tu, Brute?", Mimi will forge an army of allies to oust Lucious from Empire Entertainment. This decision has been made after the father-of-two tries to control his music streaming service Swift Stream. Indeed, this product costs his company millions and to be honest, it serves as a business idea to further Lyon's power in Empire Entertainment. Nevertheless, Mimi can see through his questionable decisions and thinks it's time to dethrone him.
In the event of Lyon's precarious position in Empire Entertainment, the fans have argued that he will most probably conspire with Cookie and try to assert his power in whatever way he can. However, this remains to be seen. If it does happen, then the Lyon family -- Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), Jamal (Jussie Smollett), Lucious and Cookie -- will perhaps work as a family again.
In the upcoming episode, Rapper Da Brat plays the role of Jeezy, William Fichtner appears as James Henthrop, Charlamagne Tha God as himself, and Naomi Campbell guest stars as Camilla.
According to TV Guide, season 2 episode 10's synopsis reads:
Lucious makes a reckless play for the streaming service that he believes will put him on the map as the most powerful man in music, but in the end this move could cost him big time; and Cookie decides to stage a concert at the prison where she was locked away from her family for 17 years.
"Empire" season 2 episode 10, titled "Et tu, Brute", airs on Wednesday at 9pm on Fox. You can live stream the episode via Fox Now and Hulu.
