Bollywood superstar Deepika Padukone, currently shooting for her maiden Hollywood flick "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage" with action hero Vin Diesel, has taken time off to shoot a commercial ad with a plethora of Indian sportswomen -- from cricketers to shuttlers to street basketballers. The video, made in collaboration with Nike, is the perfect motivational dose aspiring women sportspersons would need.
Deepika, 30, the daughter of former India badminton player Prakash Padukone, is seen involved in an intense workout in the video, where she also showcases her badminton skills. India women's hockey player Rani Rampal, footballer Jyoti Ann Burrett, squash star Joshna Chinappa as well as India Women cricketers Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana and Shubhlakshmi Sharma are seen in the ad.
Termed 'Da Da Ding', the video starts with a heart thumping motivational music that is ideal for a beast-like workout session and the women in the video are seen waking up early to start their workout regime -- from dance to home workouts, from basketball to weights and from boxing to football.
When I was growing up my father said to me: "To be the best, always remember the three D's - Discipline, Dedication and Determination. Follow your heart. Do what you are passionate about," wrote Deepika on her Facebook page. "Sport has taught me how to handle failure. It has also taught me how to handle success. It has kept me grounded. It has taught me humility."
The 'Bajirao Mastani' and 'Cocktail' actress also mentioned that sport has helped her beat depression -- the epidemic every person, no matter old or young, go through in their life. Deepika also urged all men and women to practice at least one sport as it has the power of changing life.
"Sport has taught me how to survive! It has taught me how to fight! It has made me unstoppable!" she added.
