Barbados Tridents will lock horns with the defending champions, Trinbago Knight Riders, in match no. 16 of CPL 2016 at the Kensington Oval on Saturday. Both teams are coming into this fixture on the back of victories.
AB de Villiers will get a chance to clash against his South Africa teammate Hashim Amla, who has also been in good form, in Barbados on Saturday. Both players have been instrumental in yielding positive results for their respective teams.
De Villiers has been named man of the match twice in two of their victories in CPL 2016. His presence can make a lot of difference and that has been evident in this fourth edition of CPL.
Knight Riders bowlers will be aware of this fact and they will have to plan accordingly to stop De Villiers, who has already scored 157 runs at a strike rate of over 150 in CPL 2016 so far.
Dwayne Bravo-led Trinbago Knight Riders, on the other hand, will be confident after they outclassed the best team of the tournament so far — Guyana Amazon Warriors — by seven runs in their last match.
If the Knight Riders can secure a win over the Tridents, they can climb up to the third spot in the CPL 2016 points table. Also, it will give them a major boost ahead of the remainder of the matches after a horrifying start to CPL 2016.
Expected playing XI:
Barbados Tridents: Steven Taylor, Raymon Reifer, Shoaib Malik, AB de Villiers, Kieron Pollard (C), Nicholas Pooran (wk), David Wiese, Wayne Parnell, Akeal Hosein, Imran Khan, Ravi Rampaul.
Trinbago Knight Riders: Hashim Amla, Anton Devcich, Colin Munro, Darren Bravo, Umar Akmal, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Dwayne Bravo (C), Denesh Ramdin (wk), Kevon Cooper, Sunil Narine, Suliemann Benn.
