"Code Black" season 1 is all set to go in for a mid-season break after it airs its fall finale episode on 9 December. Last week's episode 10, focusing on Jesse's heart attack provided for some highly-emotional content, but it looks like episode 11 will take it a notch higher.

Last week in episode 10, the biggest case was that of Jesse's heart attack. While many would have thought that would be a whole lot of medical drama to deal with, but the episode turned out to be pretty casual in handling the plot.

The episode also saw the ER trying to get used to the new department head who questions Rorish's decisions. And while all this was happening, an ambulance showed up with its paramedics knocked out by their patient, who snapped and jumped on Jesse when he came out of the ambulance -- this is what actually caused the heart attack.

"Cardiac Support" turned out to be quite an eventful episode where the doctors tried to save not just Jesse but also other patients, which included a man hit by a train, the daughter of a controlling Beverly Hills mother, and the wife of a veteran who is on drugs and cheating on him.

In this week's fall finale episode, fans will find their favourite resident doctors' lives at risk as they try to save victims of a multi-vehicle accident. The promo of "Black Tag" teases residents rushing through to save dozens of critically-injured victims as they realise that not everyone will survive.

The clip shows ER director Dr Leanne Rorish saying: "Decide whose life you can save." And one of the resident doctors asks her: "You want us to decide who lives and dies?"

Going by the preview of the fall finale episode, it looks like it's going to be an intense and fast-paced cliffhanger episode.

Official plot synopsis of Episode 11 reads: "The doctors find their own lives in danger when they arrive at the scene of a massive multi-vehicle accident on a highway covered in thick fog. Also, Jesse's confidence is shaken following his heart attack, while Carla's condition becomes critical."

"Code Black" fall finale episode 11, titled "Black Tag", will be aired on CBS on 9 December at 10 pm.
