After seeing their third match of the Champions League T20 2014 washed out by rain, the Chennai Super Kings know only one result will do on Saturday when they take on the Perth Scorchers in Bangalore – a victory, and preferably a big one.

With CSK currently on six points after three matches, MS Dhoni and co. have no choice but to pick up a win, but the same can be said about the Scorchers as well.

However, with the Kolkata Knight Riders already progressing to the semifinals, only one spot remains up for grabs, and if CSK beat the Scorchers on Saturday, then the Australian team will be out of the CLT20 2014, even with their game in hand, as CSK will be six points ahead of them. But then, the same can be said of CSK as well, if they go down to the Perth Scorchers.

Another worry for both teams will be the weather in Bangalore, with rain again expected to play a part. No play was possible when CSK were scheduled to take on the Lahore Lions, who play earlier at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium against the Dolphins, a couple of days back, and the former CLT20 winners, along with the Scorchers, will certainly hope for a full game come Saturday.

"Firstly the weather needs to clear off a bit," Scorchers opening batsman Craig Simmons said.'

If the weather does clear up, though, an exciting game is on the cards, with both teams in desperate need of four points. The CSK batting came to the fore in their previous, fully completed, game with the team in yellow smashing the Dolphins bowlers all over the park to post a score of nearly 250.

The venue, of course, had something to do with that, with the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore tailor-made for batting. The Scorchers, who suffered a little bit against the KKR spinners – Sunil Narine and Kuldeep Yadav – in their last game in Hyderabad will also be looking forward to batting on this perfect surface.

"All the batsmen are looking forward to coming to Bangalore," Simmons added. "We've all heard some very good things about the wicket -- short boundaries and quick outfield -- we are excited as a batting group.

"The first six overs are pretty important here. It's really important to get off to a good start. Myself and Adam Voges will look to go hard from ball one."
