A 1-0 lead in the bag, Liverpool will want to do the needful against Stoke City on Tuesday and seal a place in the final of the Capital One Cup final.
Jordon Ibe scored the only game of the first leg in the first half at the Britannia, giving Liverpool the upper hand in this most intriguing of League Cup semifinals. All Liverpool need to do in the second leg at Anfield is avoid defeat, and their fans will be booking a ticket to Wembley for next month.
"I have had a few matches at Anfield now and, to be honest, I can't get enough of it," the always charming Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp told the club's official website. "It's a great thing to do, one of the best I've ever done.
"I'm really looking forward to it and I'm excited to feel how different maybe the atmosphere can be. We had the last two home games; against Manchester United, the crowd was brilliant but the result not, the performance was OK.
"And against Arsenal it was brilliant too, it was cool to play, with an OK result I would say. Now we have to go to this game and hopefully the atmosphere is a winning atmosphere.
"We want to pay back. If the atmosphere is great, of course, you know that each player will want to pay back. It's a natural thing and if all the people want to help us then they are really invited to."
Stoke will know they have to score to stand a chance of going through to the final, and with Liverpool also expected to go on the attack, this semifinal second leg promises to be an entertaining one.
"It's an incredibly straightforward situation from our point of view -- we need to go there and win the game -- it's that simple," Stoke City manager Mark Hughes told reporters. "We aren't in the situation we were hoping to be in after the first leg, but that is behind us now and we are still well in the tie, so there is plenty to play for on the night.
"We will go there and really give it a go. We will have a big following behind us and we want to make it a night to remember for them. As a player you always remember cup finals and semi-finals because of the excitement and the atmosphere, so I will be telling the guys to embrace the occasion on Tuesday."
