The much-awaited Baywatch trailer is finally here, but it disappoints fans, at least in India. Paramount Pictures released the first trailer of Baywatch, which is an adaptation of the 1990s TV show of the same name.
The storyline of Baywatch revolves around the lifeguards who patrol the beach. Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson plays the role of the devoted lifeguard Mitch Buchannon and Zac Efron plays the role of a new recruit lifeguard, Matt Brody. From start to end, the trailer is about Johson and Efron's Bromance. Together, Johnson and Efron kick some butts and uncover a criminal plot to save the bay.
The muscle-bound lifeguard – Johnson and Efron – look amazing together when they show their funny side and they take the spotlight with their bromance, but a few of their fans were left disappointed. In India, fans were hoping to catch a glimpse of the villain Victoria Leeds, played by Priyanka Chopra, but in the two-minute 23-second video she has a blink and miss role. However, she owns that moment when she walks with a glass of champagne.
Chopra had earlier mentioned that she plays the role of a billionaire baddie in the film and we were hoping to see her kick some butts with a little more screen time. However, Johnson has assured her fans that there is more to her role. "All our fans & press friends in INDIA, @priyankachopra SLAYS our #Baywatch! Trust my plan.. The #Boss is comin," Johnson tweeted.
While the trailer disappointed fans in India, we hope that the film will not disappoint her fans here.
The film, directed by Seth Gordon, features Johnson, Chopra, Efron, Jon Bass, Alex Daddario, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera. The film will hit screens worldwide on May 26, 2017.
