Jenna's relationships have been troubled throughout "Awkward" but the latest instalment hints that there's still some hope. In Season 5 episode 20 titled "Misadventures in Babysitting," Jenna (Ashley Rickards) receives a surprise visit from a very dear friend.
In the latest instalment of the TV series, Jenna takes on the role of a babysitter and the experience turns out to be traumatising. She struggles to stop the baby from crying and makes frantic phone calls for help. However, to her shock, she sees Matty (Beau Mirchoff) at the door.
Matty's presence indicates that he is ready to move past the article Jenna wrote for IdeaBIn. The achingly honest story about ex-boyfriends smarted his ego earlier. But it appears he's changed his mind after Jenna left the unedited version of her story in episode 19. According to the synopsis (via TV Guide), he even helps her while she babysits.
While Jenna and Matty may become close again, Luke's reaction to this remains to be seen. After all, he made his feelings pretty obvious in "Girls Gone Viral." Jenna will most probably have to accept that one of her relationships will always be in jeopardy.
Meanwhile, Pat and Tamara attend a party by the beach. What's supposed to be a fun event turns out to be disastrous for Tamara (Jillian Rose Reed) as she is sandwiched between three rich women. In the end, Tamara ends up lying about her job at IdeaBin and even says that she can't imagine working for a living. This piece of sarcasm is obviously missed on the women, who agree with her and appear confused.
