In Season 2, Noah (Dominic West) and Alison (Ruth Wilson) begin to bear the wrath that is unleashed by both their estranged spouses, Cole (Joshua Jackson) and Helen (Maura Tierney). As tumultous as Noah and Alison's relationship started, we predict the rest of their journey to be equally unforgiving.
In the previous episode, Noah, the New York based writer, begs his daughter Whitney to keep mum about his proposal to Alison. Nevertheless, it appears that the teenager tells her mother, Helen, all about the engagement ring on Alison's finger.
In episode 4, audiences will witness the unravelling of Noah and Alison's relationship, and the tragic downfall of Helen. After Noah's verbal altercation with his daughter, he receives a court order that prohibits his fiancée, Alison, to be near his kids.
The writer breaks the news when his bride-to-be excitedly shows him pictures of new apartment listings in New York. He says, "I don't think we can live together. Just for now. Just now."
Alison remains in shock as Noah narrates the rest of the court hearing to her. Nevertheless, we wonder what will happen to their relationship once they live apart. Will Alison's estranged husband, Cole, who's been desperate to win her back, visit New York more often? After all, in a promo clip for Season 2, Alison tells Noah, "There's plenty of stuff that happens here I don't tell you about."
Episode 4 will also depict Helen's loneliness. The single parent finds solace in alcohol. She carries a flask of liquor to her boutique and tells her employee that they need to make profits especially because her estranged husband is trying to steal her money.
Helen's delusional state of mind impels her to drink more and at one point in the promo, she is arrested by the cops. Disgusted, humiliated and jealous, she tells Noah, "Why do you get to fuck up and I don't? Why are you doing this to us?
