While the world would be focusing on other celebrities during the Sprint NBA All-Star Celebrity game tonight at Madison Square Garden, Indian viewers would be watching the game with full interest as Bollywood actor, Abhishek Bachchan would feature in the game as well. He is also a goodwill ambassador to the league.
It is for the first time that the game would be played at a NBA arena.
Alongside the Bollywood actor, a number of other stars such as comic superstar Kevin Hart, film star Ansel Elgort, actor Chadwick Boseman, New York Knicks Assistant General Manager Allan Houston, Basketball Hall of Famer Chris Mullin will also be featuring in the huge event, which promises to be a glamorous affair with such high-profile celebs.
Junior Bachchan is very excited about the game, as he is also the first Indian to be a part of the Celebrity game.
"I'm excited and honored to be attending my first-ever NBA All-Star as a goodwill ambassador to the league," NBA's official website quoted him as saying.
"I know my trip will show fans in India the excitement, energy and athletic ability of the NBA game and its players. Basketball is my first love, and I look forward to supporting basketball's continued growth in India."
The Indian actor is not new to the sport, as he is said to have played the sport at the school level at least, but one can expect the actor to find it tough against a number of stars in the game, who are mostly from the America, a nation, which loves basketball.
Americans play basketball as Indians play cricket.
But basketball fans would be expecting a lot from Kevin Hart, who has some tricks up his sleeve and is a good basketball player as well, as can be understood with his MVP winning performance in the last three Celebrity editions of the All Star game.
Carmelo Anthony and Spike Lee are the coaches alongside ESPN Radio's "Mike & Mike" hosts Mike Golic and Mike Greenberg.
The All Star Celebrity game is just the start of the weekend, which is expected to be a huge affair with other grand competitions in the offing as well over the three days.
Two of the most anticipated event during the All Star weekend would be taking place tomorrow, which is the Slam Dunk contest along with the three point shooting contest.
