Hina Khan aka Akshara of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai quitting the show did not come as a surprise. While speculations were doing the rounds that Hina's never-ending tantrums and insecurities with the younger co-stars were the reasons of her being ousted, it seems there is another story to it.
Rumour has it that Hina's co-star Shivangi Joshi, who plays the role of Naira on the show, was the main reason for the lead actress' exit. Apparently, the actresses, who played doting mother-daughter on-screen, could never see eye-to-eye when the cameras went off. Not just that, Hina and Shivangi often landed up in heated arguments, which eventually affected the shoot schedule.
Amid these issues between the two, Hina fell ill and was away from the shoot for a long time. This was when the makers decided to shift the track from Akshara to Naira. To everyone's surprise, Naira and Kartik's love story gained immense love from audience.
A source told the Asian Age: "Their cold vibes and bickering soon became the fodder for gossip and discussion for the entire unit. The actors would often have long and heated arguments, which would hinder the shoot. In the midst of all the drama, Hina took ill and was hospitalised for a prolonged period of time. Her absence led the makers to shift the focus on Naira's track and that's how Shivangi started gaining prominence."
However, Shivangi said that she had nothing to do with Hina's exit. She also refuted to cold vibes with the actress. "I have got nothing to do with (Hina) Akshara's exit. The stories of my cold vibes with Hina are rubbish. She was very sweet to me," Shivangi said.
Meanwhile, Hina, who had been the face of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai for the past eight years, got teary-eyed while shooting for her last episode recently.
