Comedian Kapil Sharma, who made his debut in films with "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon", wanted Deepika Padukone to play his girlfriend's character in the flick.
Everyone knows that Kapil's favourite actress is Deepika and when they appear on screen, both love to flirt with each other.
However, the buzz is that Kapil insisted to cast the "Bajirao Mastani" actress in his debut film, according to DNA.
She was approached with the role of Kapil's girlfriend, which later went to Elli Avram.
"Directors Abbas-Mustan who had worked with Deepika in Race 2and shared a cordial rapport with her, did approach her. But she declined. More than her schedules, the role hardly justified Deepika's presence," DNA quoted a friend of Kapil.
Apparently, after Deepika turned down the role, Kapil went ahead and named Elli's character 'Deepika'.
"That's Kapil's way of incorporating his favourite actress into his debut film. Kapil has told us he had to have Deepika in his first film. She's not there in person. But very much present in spirit," Kapil's friend further said.
Meanwhile, film "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" has got mixed reviews from the audience. Though Bollywood celebs like Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Varun Dhawan lauded Kapil's debut film, it didn't impress the audience much.
Film "KKPK" featured the "Comedy Nights With Kapil" host, who is seen romancing four heroines - Elli, Manjari Fadnis, Simran Kaur and Sai Lokur. This is the first comic genre film for action-thriller producers Abbas-Mustan.
Written by Anukalp Goswami, "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon" also features Arbaaz Khan and Varun Sharma.
